Asiel Adan Sanchez is a non-binary doctor, writer and advocate. They joined the Minus18 Crew whilst still in medical school and have been a member of the Board of Directors since 2016. They currently lead the Access and Inclusion Committee and work across a broad range of intersections within the LGBTIQ community.
Asiel is a passionate advocate for LGBTIQ health. Outside of Minus18, they work for the Department of Health and Human Services LGBTIQ Working Group, Monash Medical School and Deakin School of Medicine. On their free time, they enjoy writing poetry and non-fiction essays. Their work has been featured at the Emerging Writers Festival, and in Archer Magazine, Voiceworks and Rabbit Poetry, amongst others. They are currently completing their speciality in General Practice with an interest in mental health, sexual health, transgender health and HIV medicine.
