Asiel is a non‐binary doctor, writer and performer. Born and raised in Mexico. Asiel's work explores the intricacies of race, sex, gender, sexuality, mental health and medical systems. Asiel's writing has appeared in Archer Magazine, Voiceworks magazine, The Age and Crickey.

Asiel is a passionate advocate for LGBTIQ health and whose work has been profiled at multiple medical congresses, conferences and lectures. Their work on LGBTI health and medical education was awarded the Peter McPhee student award in 2016.
