Rose (she/they) is a creative and outgoing artist, bringing her passion for event coordination, the arts and LGBTQIA+ advocacy to her work at Minus18. She is particularly interested in the curation of sustainable event programs that focus on youth empowerment and diverse representation.

Originally from rural Victoria, Rose moved to Naarm to study gender at Monash University, where she was introduced to event management, working for three years as part of the Campus Experience and Major Events team. Her time in the tertiary events sector provided Rose with a strong foundation in events management and volunteer coordination and helped to spark her love of fun and creatively driven experiences.

As an artist, Rose has been performing since she was in her early teen years, beginning jazz vocal training at a small music school twenty minutes from her hometown. Whilst Rose has since shifted focus away from jazz, music is a core aspect of Rose’s identity and expression as a queer person.

Alongside her ever enduring love for dogs, Rose is an avid hiker and outdoors adventurer and enjoys hitting the bouldering walls at her local indoor climbing gym. Her border collie, Milo, is a constant companion to all adventures.

Rose’s lived experience as a queer person inspires her to work towards building more inclusive spaces that are grounded in education, support and allyship.

Minus18 is located on the land of the Yalakut Weelam Clan of the Boon Wurrung peoples, Australia’s First People and Traditional Custodians. We acknowledge their continued connection and contribution to land, water and community, and pay our respects to Elders past, present and emerging. Sovereignty was never ceded; this always was, always will be, Aboriginal land.
